Hilary Clinton is coming to Dublin, but without Bill. She will be here at the end of the month on the way between London - where she is meeting Prime Minister Tony Blair and staying at Chequers - and Belfast, where she will give the inauguration lecture at the University of Ulster in memory of Joyce McCartan, the woman who entertained her to tea and buns on the Ormeau Road two years ago. In Dublin, she will stay with US ambassador Jean Kennedy-Smith at the latter's residence in the Phoenix Park and an entertainment is planned. Her visit coincides with presidential polling day, so she will just miss the opportunity of crossing the road and meeting our next great leader, whoever that may be.
