Dublin-based HKR Architects (HKR) is to close its Manchester office and expand its London office to serve its UK and international client base.
The directors of the Manchester operation will form a new practice, 5Plus Architects, and work collaboratively with HKR on certain projects.
HKR said today it has recently won a number of international contracts, including designing a new airport in the Middle East and a large resort in Slovenia.
Chief executive Jerry Ryan said the new projects would reflect HKR's focus on increased geographic diversity.
"Consistent with our focus on large-scale international projects, we are expanding our London office to support the needs of our growing international client base. We have, however, also taken the decision to close our regional office in Manchester and will serve our UK and international client base from our expanded London office," he said.
Directors of the Manchester office Phil Doyle and Jon Matthews will form 5Plus Architects together with Adam Thornton, Paul Norbury and Carly Grice.
