Gardai are searching for three men who demolished most of one side of a garage in an attempted raid on an ATM machine in Co Tipperary this morning.
The gang used a forklift in the attempted robbery at a garage in Toomevara, but when it activated alarms the three fled empty-handed.
They were last seen speeding in the Dublin direction in a red car, possibly an Almeira, according to a Garda spokesman.
This morning's attempt follows a similarly failed and destructive attempt in Limerick city last year.
The Garda investigation of the incident has been hampered by the lack of CCTV footage - security cameras in the vicinity had had their power source cut off.
Gardaí have appealed for information from anyone who noticed a red car travelling at speed on the Tipperary to Dublin road shortly after midnight.
