London - Mr Adrian MacDonald, driver of the Rennies coach which crashed in France killing a British teenager on Monday, appeared before an investigating magistrate in the Palais de Justice in Bourges yesterday evening charged with involuntary homicide, French police said.
The move follows interviews with Mr MacDonald, of Kelty, Fife, who was at the wheel of the bus when it left the road. One line of inquiry the police have been pursuing is the possibility that Mr MacDonald, who had been driving abroad for the first time, fell asleep at the wheel of the vehicle which was carrying 48 people.
