Hoax devices prompted a bomb alert today at Belfast's Holy Cross primary school, the centre of a long-running controversy in the northern part of the city.
British army experts were called in when two suspicious objects were spotted in the grounds of the school by a passer-by.
It is believed the objects were thrown over a fence.
Following the incident, the PSNI advised anyone in the area finding anything suspicious not to touch anything, but to contact the authorities.
Holy Cross school was the focal point of a three-month protest in 2001 by loyalist residents at the Ardoyne interface, when pupils had to be escorted daily to and from the school by security forces.
The dispute centred on alleged attacks on nearby homes by the nationalist community in Ardoyne.
It ended after local Protestant residents were promised social improvements and new security measures.
The latest alert followed widespread disruption in several parts of Belfast on Friday caused by a series of bomb scares that were blamed on loyalists.
