The homes of leading Sinn Féin members, including that of party president Gerry Adams, have been attacked in west Belfast.
Mitchel McLaughlin, the party general secretary, said a series of attacks, in which ball bearings were used, had been carried out early yesterday.
He said the homes of Mr Adams as well as Fra McCann and Chrissie McAuley had been targeted in what was a co-ordinated attack.
"This wave of attacks replicates similar incidents last year when dozens of republican homes were targeted in Belfast," he said.
"It is clear that all of the attacks were linked and those responsible were operating with accurate information regarding the addresses of republicans.
"One source of this information could obviously be the PSNI."
No-one was injured in the incidents and Mr McLaughlin called on Sinn Féin members to be vigilant.
"The PSNI totally refutes this unfounded allegation," a representative said.
"Our job is to make west Belfast safer for everyone and we abhor incidents such as these where property belonging to anyone is damaged," the spokesperson added.
