The Ulster Hospital at Dundonald is to receive an investment of almost £100 million for a massive refurbishment programme. The hospital, on the outskirts of east Belfast, has not received a major cash investment since being built in the 1960s.
Plans for the development programme were announced by the Minister of Health, Ms Bairbre de Brun, yesterday. The hospital will be almost totally rebuilt, with its accident and emergency department, maternity department and theatre blocks upgraded in the £98 million plan, expected to take place over seven years.
