A Co Wicklow woman has settled for an undisclosed sum her action alleging negligence by the National Maternity Hospital in the management of her pregnancy. The woman's daughter was delivered stillborn in January 1998 and it was claimed the hospital had failed to respond properly to intrauterine growth retardation.
Ms Margaret McCormack, of Boghall Road, Bray, alleged that, due to breach of duty and negligence by the hospital in the management of her pregnancy and in the provision of obstetric and gynaecological services, her child had died on January 5th, 1998 and was delivered stillborn two days later.
Mr Justice Johnson was later told the proceedings had been settled.
