House price asking prices have increased 14 per cent since April 2005, according to a survey published today.
The survey carried out by property website Daft.ie said asking prices had increased 5.5 per cent since the start of the year.
House prices in Wicklow have grown at the fastest rate in the country, increasing by 21 per cent over the past 12 months. The average price of a house in Co Wicklow is €534,000, compared to a national average of €365,000 nationwide, the survey found.
Clonakilty is now the most expensive town in Munster, with an average house price of €350,000 compared to €325,000 in Cork city and less than €200,000 in Newcastle West.
