London - Hormone Replacement Therapy boosts a woman's chances of contracting breast cancer, according to a study of its long-term risks.
The study, which pooled data from more than 40 earlier research projects involving more than 60,000 women, showed that the risk of developing breast cancer is 2.3 times higher among women who receive the treatment which replaces oestrogen and is aimed at reducing the risk of dementia, brittle bones and heart disease.
