Significant funds were raised over the weekend as people took to their bicycles to help others in need. Former rugby star Fergus Slattery officially got the Willows Wheelers underway in their 100-mile charity cycle yesterday in aid of water, health and education projects around the world.

Enda Kenny, Lucinda Creighton and Ciaran Cannon joined the Mayo Pink Ribbon Charity Cycle in Castlebar, Co Mayo.

Temple Street Hospital staged its Cycle4Life Appeal from Dunboyne Co Meath and the One4all Cycle4Haiti run continues for another day.
