The Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers' Association President, Mr Frank Allen, said yesterday his organisation did not care how low-income families got financial help from the Government as long as it was paid to them.
Following a meeting with the Minister for Finance, Mr McCreevy, Mr Allen said the ICMSA, unlike the IFA, was not demanding that the Family Income Supplement Scheme be extended to farm families on low income.
"What we are demanding is that the Government give immediate aid to the 10,000 farm families with over 35,000 children who deserve it," he said.
