The president of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, Ms Inez McCormack, has been named person of the year at the Aisling Awards in Belfast.
The awards, which are sponsored by three Belfast community newspapers, are aimed at honouring local people who have made a significant contribution to peace and community prosperity.
