Impact has suspended its industrial action in the RTCs after the Department of Education made a new offer in a dispute over the appointment of additional staff.
The union is recommending acceptance of the Department's offer of 40 new posts immediately and another 40 "within a reasonable timeframe", it said yesterday.
The dispute involves 200 clerical, administrative and library staff who have been refusing to work overtime or use telephones since the industrial action began a month ago. Full strike action was scheduled to begin next Monday.
