The spacious three-bedroom bungalow formerly owned by Brian Collopy, originally from St Mary's Park, Limerick city, was seized by Cab two years ago, after it found that it had been purchased with the proceeds of criminal activity.
Mr Collopy (33), who has 16 previous convictions, purchased Ashby House, Fedamore for €150,000 cash in March 2002.
The following year the Criminal Assets Bureau secured an order in the High Court freezing the property, thereby preventing Mr Collopy from selling it.
Mr Collopy mounted a 12-month long legal battle against Cab. However, last December he consented to vacate the property. Gardaí believe Brian Collopy has links to one of Limerick's main feuding factions. He is also facing a Cab demand for an outstanding tax and social welfare bill for almost €500,000.

He added that "prices are going through the roof and the oil companies say they can do no more about it so now we are asking the Government can they do something to reduce fuel prices".
Mr McKenna said the truckers intend to take to the road at 6am on Monday next and "go all the way to Dublin" in a convoy of 50-60 lorries to highlight the problem.
