Limerick student killed in motorway collision in England
A community in Limerick is in mourning following the death of a woman in England. Jemma O'Sullivan (22) of Monaleen Heights was killed when the car she and her boyfriend were travelling in was in collision with another vehicle on a motorway in Yorkshire. The crash, which involved four vehicles, happened last Friday on the northbound carriageway of the M18 near Doncaster.
Ms O’Sullivan was studying for a degree in pharmacy at the University of Sunderland and was returning to college in the northeast when the crash took place.
Her boyfriend, who is from Reading, remains in hospital where his condition is said to be stable.
Funeral of man killed by falling tree
The funeral took place yesterday of an elderly man who was killed by a falling tree in Co Donegal last Friday.
Paddy Havlin (74) was knocked to the ground as mature trees were being felled at his home at Clar, Redcastle. Mr Havlin had lived alone since his wife died about 11 years ago.
Pieta House to open Limerick base
The Republic's only centre for the intervention of suicide and self-harm is planning to open a new base in Limerick.
