Woman found dead outside home in Galway
A Garda investigation is under way following the discovery of a woman's body outside her home in Tuam in Co Galway, reports John Fallon.The woman, who was in her 70s, was found outside her house on Bermingham Street by a neighbour about 12.30pm yesterday. Her body was taken to University Hospital Galway for a postmortem examination.
A Garda spokesperson said there was nothing to suggest there were suspicious circumstances surrounding the death but that all aspects would be investigated.
“The woman’s body was found outside her own house by a neighbour and we will be examining all aspects,” said the Garda spokesperson.
North Co Galway has been hit by bad weather in recent days but it is not known if this was a factor in the woman’s death.
Man charged with dangerous driving
A MAN appeared in Killarney District Court yesterday charged with dangerous driving causing the death of a fellow Polish man in the town last March. Daniel Suslo (27), with an address formerly in Killarney and now in Cork, is charged with dangerous driving causing the death of Piotr Arciszewski (24), at Woodlawn Road, Killarney, on March 28th last.
Judge James O’Connor granted the application for legal aid and the request for a Polish interpreter and translation of documents, and remanded Mr Suslo to appear on January 18th.
Body of man (28) found in ravine
The body of a 28-year-old man was recovered from a ravine in Co Carlow yesterday.
Gardaí believe the man died when his vehicle crashed into bridge on Monday. The incident took place at Kilcoltrim, Borris.
The body was discovered at the bottom of the ravine shortly after midnight. It was removed from the scene yesterday.
Gardaí said the man who died was local.
