Garda dig at St Anne's Park continues
Gardaí will this morning begin a third day of excavations in a north Dublin park in their search for human remains.
The dig began on Monday at St Anne's Park, Raheny, after gardaí received a tip-off that a man had been murdered and his body buried in the park about 10 years ago.
Gardaí sealed off a large section of the park at the corner of James Larkin Road and Watermill Road. Search teams using sniffer dogs identified a number of excavation sites after the tip-off.
It is understood that gardaí are uncertain about the veracity of the claim made by the caller that a body is buried in the park. However, the information relating to the exact location was specific, prompting gardaí to begin the excavations.

Drugs seized at Shannon airport
Customs officers have recovered drugs from an aircraft which arrived at Shannon airport for routine maintenance, in the second such incident in a year.
On Monday night, officers recovered 2.2kg of cocaine with a street value of €158,000 during a "routine search of an aircraft" at the Shannon Aerospace maintenance facility.
A Revenue spokesman said the drugs had been concealed in an overhead lighting unit. Gardaí carried out a technical examination yesterday and the drugs were sent to the Garda forensic science laboratory in Dublin.
The aircraft was undergoing a routine maintenance check when staff made the discovery in an overhead compartment. It had arrived from Amsterdam on November 29th.
The circumstances of the discovery are almost identical to another nearly a year ago when an aircraft, also operated by Dutch airline Martinair, arrived at Shannon Aerospace for maintenance and 1.1kg of cocaine worth €70,000 was recovered from an overhead locker.
Last year in Shannon, there were 52 drugs seizures amounting to 66.25kg of assorted illicit narcotics, as well as 406 tablets. The value of the combined seizures was €255,958.
There were 30 seizures in 2006 made up of 77.406kg of drugs worth €190,910.
Man questioned on Dublin shooting
A man was being questioned last night about the wounding of a Dublin man in an attack in the city last month. The 24-year-old suspect was arrested in Ballymun, north Dublin, yesterday morning.
He was detained under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and was being held at Finglas Garda station. He was being questioned about the shooting of a 41-year-old man on Cardiffsbridge Road, Finglas, on November 15th.
The victim was being driven from a house in his partner's car when a gunman approached the vehicle on foot and opened fire. The man was wounded once in the shoulder. As he ran from the vehicle he fell and was shot in the abdomen. He is still recovering in hospital.
Gardaí believe the shooting is linked to a local drugs feud.
