Department of Health names new CMO
Dr Tony Holohan has been appointed chief medical officer at the Department of Health and Children.
A graduate of UCD, Dr Holohan joined the department in 2001 as deputy chief medical officer. He succeeds Dr Jim Kiely.
Reward offered in sex attack
A reward of €10,000 has been offered for assistance in catching the perpetrator of a sex attack on a woman in Dublin five weeks ago.
The campaign was launched yesterday by the Crimestoppers Trust to assist gardaí investigating the attack, which happened in the Elm Park area of Ranelagh on October 26th at about 3am.
Gardaí are seeking a man described as being 5ft 4in in height, of slim build, clean shaven, pale skinned and having short blonde hair.
He was wearing a black waist-length jacket which was double buttoned in front, black trousers and a light-coloured shirt on the night of the attack.

UK award for 'Irish Times'
The Irish Times has received the award for Overseas Newspaper of the Year distributed in the UK for the third time in four years.
The award was presented by the Association of Circulation Executives (Ace) at its annual awards ceremony in London.
The award recognises the newspaper's consistent advance in availability and circulation throughout England and Wales.
Siptu seeks O'Leary meeting
Siptu has said it would like to meet Ryanair chief Michael OLeary to negotiate pay and conditions for staff at his airline.
The union's comments followed indications from Mr O'Leary that he would recognise unions at Aer Lingus if Ryanair was successful in its bid for the rival airline. Ryanair has traditionally refused to negotiate with trade unions.
Siptu's Gerry McCormack said the union "could ensure that . . . agency workers employed by Ryanair received proper pay and conditions".
