Woman killed in Galway collision

Gardaí were last night investigating a fatal road crash in Lenamore, Co Galway. A woman died after two vehicles collided on the N17 between Tuam and Milltown at about 3.30pm.

Four people were taken to University College Hospital in Galway following the crash and traffic diversions were put in place.

Man arrested after crash on N11

A man was arrested and six people were taken to hospital after a crash on the N11 between the Arklow and Rathnew bypasses.

Three vehicles were involved. Four occupants of one car, including a pregnant woman and two young children, were taken to hospital, as were two occupants of another vehicle.

The incident happened at about 3.30pm at Ballyclough, Kilbride, on a straight stretch of road.

Skull in garden is 100 years old

A human skull which was discovered in the back garden of a house in south Dublin on Monday is about 100 years old, gardaí said yesterday.

The skull, which was in a plastic bag, was found in the Orlagh Grove Estate, Knocklyon. Gardaí said that the skull was that of a man, aged between 25 and 40, who died of natural causes.

E.coli warning for housing estate

Residents of a north Dublin housing estate have been advised to boil drinking water after the discovery of the E.coli bacteria in the system.

The precaution, first issued by Fingal County Council on August 8th, remains in place until the source is identified.The council said that there was no immediate danger to householders in the estate at Knocksedan, Swords.
