Shots fired into house in Donaghmede
Gardaí are investigating a shooting early yesterday in which a number of shots were fired through the hall door of a house. Four shots were fired through the door at the property in Grattan Lodge, Donaghmede, north Dublin just before 2am.
A man in his 20s from west Dublin was injured.
Gardaí wait to talk to dead man's wife
Gardaí investigating the death of Pat Burke (55), Ballybrittas, Co Laois, whose body was found at his home on Sunday, were still waiting last night to speak to his wife about the case.
Man on car death charge remanded
Eric Doyle (42), Rathfarnham, Dublin, who has been charged in connection with the death of student Lily Hastings Bass (20) from Berkshire, England, in a hit-and-run incident last year, has been remanded in custody for four weeks.
No charge in bus death case
The DPP has decided against prosecuting the driver of a Dublin Bus involved in an incident which led to the death of an elderly woman. Ellen Murphy (76) from Coolock was killed when she became trapped under the wheel of a bus at Barryscourt Road, Coolock, on January 12th.
French fisherman on his way home
A fisherman flown to Kerry General Hospital from 260km off the southwest coast on Wednesday was on his way home to France last night.
He was treated at Kerry General Hospital and was discharged yesterday.
