450 kegs of beer stolen from brewery
Gardaí are investigating the theft of 450 kegs of beer from Dublin's Guinness brewery. The haul was taken on Wednesday afternoon when a man drove a truck into the yard of the brewery on Victoria Quay, attached a trailer containing the kegs to the vehicle and drove off.
The alcohol stolen included 180 kegs of Guinness, 180 kegs of Budweiser and 90 kegs of Carlsberg. The estimated value of the haul is €65,000.

Pedestrian killed in Galway crash
Gardaí in Athenry, Co Galway are investigating a road traffic collision in which a pedestrian was killed last night. The crash, which involved two cars, occurred at Caheryon Road, Athenry, and the 50-year-old pedestrian, a Polish man, died at the scene.
The woman who died in a road collision in Co Westmeath, on Wednesday evening was named yesterday as 83-year-old Margaret Peig Casey, New Road, Thomondgate, Co Limerick. She was struck by a car at Lower Bridge Street, Kilbeggan.
Body found in Clare lake
Gardaí at Killaloe have begun an investigation after the discovery of a body in a lake in Tulla, Co Clare, yesterday.
A local man fishing on St Bridget's Lake contacted gardaí. A search by the Garda water unit began at first light yesterday and the body was removed to Limerick Regional Hospital. Gender has not yet been determined.
Inquiry over €100,000 fish haul
The Sea Fisheries Protection Authority has seized fish worth over €100,000 as part of an investigation into landings and sale of illegal catches.
It said a "significant quantity of high value" species were taken, including cod and monkfish, from a premises in Union Hall, Co Cork, yesterday.
Airline plans Beijing service
Ireland's rapidly-growing Chinese community are expected to be the biggest users of a new Etihad Airways service from Dublin to Beijing, via Abu Dhabi. Etihad, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, will begin the service on March 30th.
