Two Bangladeshis were shot dead by Indian border guards, officials said today, as Bangladesh's prime minister said border disputes between the neighbours should be solved within a year.
Bangladeshi officials said India's Border Security Forcetroops opened fire yesterday when Bangladeshi farmers and Indian tea garden workers clashed after a cow strayed into Indian territory.
Two farmers were killed and 50 others injured in the incident in Bangladesh's northern Lalmonirhat district, they said.
