Indonesian police have arrested another suspect in the deadly bombing of a J W Marriott hotel in Jakarta, local media reported today.

Police caught a man identified as Dahlan in East Java's town of Ngawi on Thursday, the leading daily Kompas reported, quoting East Java police chief Inspector-General Firman Gani.

"The arrest was carried out by a team from the national police headquarters and it happened in east Java," Mr Gani was quoted as saying.

Mr Gani was not immediately available today and police officials in Jakarta declined to comment. Dahlan's alleged role in the blast remains unclear.

Police have detained 14 people linked to the blast, which killed 12 people and wounded 150.

One of the main suspects, Malaysian-born Azahari, described by officials as the most wanted man in Southeast Asia, is still on the run.

The Marriott attack, along with the 2002 Bali nightclub blasts that killed 202 people, mostly foreign tourists, have been blamed on Southeast Asian militant network Jemaah Islamiah, which has is said to have ties to al-Qaeda.

On Friday a court in the Sumatran province of Bengkulu sentenced a Muslim militant to 10 years in jail for storing explosive materials to be used in the Marriott bombing.

Sardona Siliwangi (23) was the first defendant who has been sentenced for his involvement over the August 5th suicide car bombing.
