There was a slight drop in industrial production during the three months to September, according to seasonally adjusted figures from the Central Statistics Office.
During the July to September period production was down 0.2 per cent compared with the previous three months.
However, for September alone, production was 6.2 per cent higher than in the same month last year.
According to a sector by sector breakdown traditional industries were up 6.8 per cent on the same month last year while technology and chemical production was 5.3 per cent ahead.
