The volume of Industrial production rose 9.3 per cent in the 12 months to May according to figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) today.
The seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for manufacturing Industries for the three month period March to May 2008 was 0.9% higher than in the preceding three month period.
The modern sector which includes technology and chemical industries showed a 14.8 per cent annual increase in production, while traditional industries saw a 2.8 per cent decline.
Turnover in manufacturing industries rose by 5.9 per cent on an annual basis, according to the CSO and was 2 per cent higher in the three months to May.
