Keeper David Seaman was forced to pull out of the England squad ahead of Saturday's World Cup qualifier against Greece.
Seaman has had further problems with a sore shoulder, and Nigel Martyn looks set to replace him in goal at Old Trafford this weekend.
Leicester keeper Ian Walker has been called up to the squad as backup to Martyn and Richard Wright.
Sven-Goran Eriksson is already without Michael Owen, Sol Campbell, Wes Brown and Alan Smith due to injury; Nicky Butt will be reassessed again tomorrow after training today.
