The Irish Nurses' Organisation has suspended a member of its executive for her involvement in two unauthorised submissions to the Commission on Nursing. The submissions conflicted with union policy and the INO was not notified that they were being made.
Ms Mary Doody, a public health nurse member of the executive, was suspended at a recent meeting. The submissions called for the abolition of the grade of senior public health nurse, the introduction of appraisal schemes for public health nurses and increased pay for the grade.
The INO declined to comment last night, saying it was a purely internal matter.
