The inquest into the death of a girl (15) who died after being struck with a baseball bat in Dublin has been adjourned.

It is believed Rebekah Kiely, from Castleknock in Dublin, was struck with a bat during a fight between two men as she was standing near St Brigid's GAA club on the old Navan Road at around 9.30pm on November 10th, 2006.

Insp Brian Sherry from Blanchardstown Garda Station sought a three-month adjournment of the inquest, saying the Garda inquiry is not complete.

Dublin City Coroner Dr Brian Farrell adjourned the inquest until March 30th.

Rebekah died on November 24th, 2006, after spending several weeks in a critical condition in intensive care in Dublin's Beaumont Hospital.

Four days before the teenager died, two men were charged at Dublin District Court in connection with the assault.
