A NEW Age Traveller who collapsed in a toilet cubicle of a Dublin city centre pub on a busy Saturday night was there for up to six hours before he was discovered, an inquest has heard.
German national John Schmidt (35) Cool Mountain, Dunmanway, Co Cork, was discovered in a cubicle in the Oak Bar, Crane Lane, Dame Street, Dublin, by a security guard in the early hours of June 25th, 2006, Dublin City Coroner's Court heard.
The deceased had a syringe sticking out of his arm at the time of his discovery and other drug paraphernalia was located in his vicinity.
Ambulance crew workers noted that rigor mortis, (which begins six hours after death,) had set in. There were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
Coroner Dr Brian Farrell recorded a verdict of death by misadventure.
