A Dublin man died of exposure in the doorway of a shop a short distance from his home, an inquest heard yesterday.
Mr Paul Moore, Decies Road, Ballyfermot, had a drink problem and was living rough, his mother, Ms Rose Moore, told Dublin City Coroner's Court. He was found by firemen lying in the doorway of a shop at Decies Road at 3.45 p.m. on November 9th and was pronounced dead at St James's Hospital. He was treated for hypothermia but died.
The coroner, Dr Brian Farrell, said it appeared Mr Moore fell asleep while intoxicated and died of exposure. He recorded a verdict of death by misadventure.
