The first meeting of the CIE committee investigating last weekend's bus crash in which five people were killed begins today.
Two experts from Britain, and one each form Belgium and Germany will be in attendance as investigators attempt to discover why an out-of-service bus apparently ran out of control just seconds after pulling away from the kerb.
Witnesses said the bus careered onto the footpath and into passengers boarding a second bus bound for Maynooth.
The six-week inquiry will be held in private and today's meeting will focus on the method of the inquiry.
The terms of the inquiry are to establish the cause and any contributory factors leading to the crash and is expected to include technical analysis and witness accounts.
Mr Arnold O'Byrne, a Dublin Bus board member, will chair the inquiry.
The investigating committee is made up of four other Dublin Bus officials and four international experts.
The investigation team last night finished interviewing the two bus drivers involved but gardaí have not concluded their inquiries and further interviews with the drivers are expected.
