Gardaí have reached an “advanced stage” in their investigation into the death of a man who was stabbed to death after trying to help a friend with noisy neighbours, Dublin Coroner’s Court heard.
Warren O’Connor (24), a former soldier from Ferrycarrig Green in Coolock, was killed when he was stabbed on the Hole in the Wall Road after being chased by a car from the Grattan Wood apartment complex in Donaghmede on January 16th, 2010.
He had gone to the complex when a friend had called him for help. He was driving his friend’s pregnant girlfriend and child away from the complex when their car was rammed and he was stabbed.
Insp Luke Lacey of Coolock Garda station told coroner Dr Brian Farrell that the inquiry was at an advanced stage.
The inquest was adjourned for further mention on March 4th next year.
