IONA has announced the opening of an office in Singapore, the company's ninth office in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Irish-based platform provider will focus on the delivery of high-impact, web services standards-based e-business integration solutions to clients throughout the Singaporean, Malaysian, and other Asian markets.
"End-to-Anywhere integration requires a tightly architected, non-proprietary platform, plus a set of services that are adaptable to an organization's strategic requirements," said Mr Mike Verretto, vice president Asia-Pacific at IONA.
"Our customers and those of our partners share integration challenges with critical business implications - challenges involving an array of mainframe-, Microsoft-, J2EE- and CORBA-based applications".
The Singapore office will be led by Mr Owen Gan, IONA's new business development manager for Singapore and neighboring Asian countries.
He reports directly Mr Nick Athineos, who continues as the IONA managing director within Asia-Pacific overseeing the ASEAN region, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.
IONA had revenues of $181 million in 2001 and employs over 900 people in 30 offices worldwide.
