Iona Technologies has posted a net loss of $600,000 in the first quarter of this year.
However, sales at the Irish software group were boosted by a surge in demand for its Artix product.
Revenues for the January to March period were $16.9 million and $1.4 million in share-based payments. This was not included in the same period last year due to a change in accounting methods.
When this was excluded net profits were $800,000, compared with $100,000 over the first quarter last year.
Peter Zotto, Iona ceo said revenues from Artix had doubled compared with the same period in 2005 and the Corba technology was providing a "stable" revenue stream
"The continued growth in Artix revenue, together with a stable CORBA revenue stream, are strong indicators that we are successfully executing against our corporate strategy," he said.
