Yesterday: "Within days of the robbery at the Northern Bank, and following media speculation and PSNI briefings, which suggested IRA involvement, I went to the IRA and asked them about this and was assured that they were not involved."
Michael McDowell
December 15th: "There has been a sustained campaign of criminality coming from the IRA since the signing of the Good Friday Agreement...It has been orchestrated by senior members of the provisional hierarchy on a sustained basis."
Hugh Orde
Yesterday: "On the basis of the investigating work we have done to date, the evidence we have collected, the information we have collected...and putting that all together...in my opinion the Provisional IRA were responsible for this crime, and all main lines of inquiry currently undertaken are in that direction."

December 13th (a week before the Northern Bank robbery): "You cannot be involved in crimimality and involved in Republican activism."
January 6th: "From the beginning I held the view that the IRA was not involved in that robbery. The IRA has said it wasn't involved. I believe that to be the case."
