Iran will shortly invite International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Chief Mohammed El Baradei to Tehran to discuss its nuclear programme, the country's official news agency reported today.

"Iran is going to invite El Baradei soon to visit Iran to hold talks to remove technical problems," IRNA quoted Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary General Hassan Rohani as saying during a meeting with visiting British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw.

Mr Straw was on a visit to Tehran to urge Iran's government to immediately and unconditionally sign up for tougher inspections of its nuclear facilities.
