Ireland have called off their Six Nations warm-up
tour of South Africa later this month.
"Given the uncertainty surrounding international fixtures caused by foot-and-mouth disease precautions, it is not practicable at this stage to implement the option of a short tour to South Africa for Ireland's senior squad," the IRFU said.
The tour, which was scheduled for March 26th to April 8th, had been set up as a warm-up for games in the Six Nations which have been postponed until the end of April and May because of Britain's foot-and-mouth crisis.
