Republic of Ireland striker Graham Barrett has joined Coventry City - from Premiership runners-up Arsenal - on a three year contract, following six years with the Highbury side.
The Dubliner has been signed on a free transfer following a disappointing loan spell to Brighton in which he only scored one goal in 30 appearances.
Coventry manager Gary McAllister says he is delighted with the signing and believes he will link up well with another new acquisition, former Wrexham striker Andy Morrell.
"He didn't score a lot of goals for Brighton," the Scotsman told the Coventry Evening Telegraph. "But he is a quality young player with a lot of determination, somebody who can give us that wee spark up the park.
"We were interested in Graham earlier this season but they wanted money for him then and everybody knows we haven't got any," said McAllister.
"He could have stayed at Arsenal but he wants to be involved, he wants to prove himself, and that's the sort of hunger and pedigree we want.
Barrett's sole appearance for the Republic of Ireland came in the 3-0 win against Finland, in which he scored the last after coming on as a substitute.
