The Irish women's hockey team got their Hockey World Cup campaign off to a losing start with a 3-1 Pool A loss to England in Perth.
England's Helen Grant opened the scoring after 10 minutes before Alex Danson doubled their advantage five minutes later.
Arlene Boyles pulled a goal back from a penalty for Ireland after 40 minutes but the fightback was short-lived and Leisa King sealed victory for England in the 56th minute.
