Ireland is to sign legal accords with Bulgaria and Poland to
facilitate the deportation of illegal immigrants who have been refused asylum, the Minister for Justice, Mr John O’Donoghue announced today.
Mr O’Donoghue said in a statement the agreements had been approved by the government and would be signed at “an early date”.
The accords will involve the repatriation of Bulgarians and Poles who are in Ireland without authorisation and also illegal immigrants from other countries who reached Ireland via these two countries.

Last May, Ireland signed a similar agreement with Romania.
