Ireland won the International Banqueting Competition at the fifth annual Limerick Good Food Festival, which concluded last evening. Chefs from eight countries took part. The UK was second and Texas third.
The Irish team was: chefs John Sheehan, Killarney Towers Hotel (captain), John O'Dowd, With Taste Banqueting, Dublin; Benny Scannell, Westwood Hotel, Galway; Anthony O'Donnell, Castletroy Park Hotel, Limerick; John Ryan, Ryan Hotel, Limerick with Brian Torsnay, La Voza le Bistro, Limerick.
