Dublin Fire Brigade was kept busy on Wednesday night with three separate fires breaking out around the capital.

Six units of Dublin Fire Brigade attended a waste fire at the Panda Waste Recycling plant on Cappagh Road at 8.20pm.

There were no injuries reported but Cappagh road was closed at Kilshane Way and diversions were put in place while firefighters worked to gain control of the fire fuelled by rubbish and recycled waste.

Dublin Fire Brigade left the scene shortly after 11pm.

Also on Wednesday night, five units, a water tanker and a district officer were called out to deal with a gorse fire behind the Blue Light pub near Barnacullia on Three Rock Mountain at 7.50pm.

A spokesman for Dublin Fire Brigade said one house was threatened by the spread of the blaze but winds worked in the firefighters’ favour and no properties were evacuated. There were no injuries in the incident.

The spokesman warned that dry weather in the coming days would make it easier for gorse to burn. Firefighters left the scene at 1.40am on Thursday.

The fire brigade was also called to a fire on the embankment area on Blessington road at 8.20pm where a blaze had broken out in two unoccupied buses. No one was injured in the incident.
