Man dies as car hits pole at N11/Loughlinstown junction

A man in his early twenties has died after the car he was driving crashed into a pole near the sliproad onto the N11 southbound from the Loughlinstown roundabout in south Dublin.

The crash led to severe traffic disruption earlier as emergency services attended the scene.

Gardaí said the crash happened at 9am and the 23-year-old driver was taken to St Columcille’s Hospital in Loughlinstown where he was pronounced dead.

The road has since reopened.
