Two men are due to appear in court in Cork later this week after being arrested and questioned in connection with a € 126,000 drugs seizure in North Cork at the weekend.
The two men were among three suspects arrested after gardaí found 21 kilos of cannabis resin when they stopped and searched two cars at Skehanagh, Watergrasshill on the N8 Cork-Dublin motorway.
All three were arrested under drugs trafficking legislation which allows for detention for up to seven days and brought to Gurranebraher and Mayfield Garda Stations for questioning about the drugs.
Two men, aged 40 and 51 from the Gurranebraher area of Cork city, were later charged by gardaí at Gurranebraher Garda Station and bailed to appear at Cork District Court on Wednesday.
A third man, aged 59 and also from the Gurranebraher area, was released without charge and gardaí will now prepare a file in his relation to his involvement in the drug discovery for the DPP.
A fourth man arrested by detectives in Dublin as part of the same investigation was later released without charge and a file will also be prepared for the DPP in relation to his involvement.
