Driver and sole occupant of car fatally injured after car hits lamppost

A woman died after a crash in Clondalkin early this morning.

The incident occurred at the junction of the Outer Ring Road and Nangor Road at about 4.30am when a car collided with a lamppost.

The woman (31), who was the sole occupant of the car, was seriously injured in the crash.

She was taken to Tallaght Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
