France play host to Ireland in the Six Nations this weekend and despite not winning a game on French soil in 12 years, thousands of Irish fans will head to the French capital filled with hope ahead of tomorrow night’s game.
While the sun is expected to shine on Parisian walkways it will be extremely cold with temperatures of -4 degrees expected at kick off. Not only that, but the weathermen promise us it will actually feel like -10 degrees.
The coming days will be dull with mist and fog in the east of the country but the weekend's GAA fixture list should go someway towards lifting the gloom with large crowds expected up and down the country.
The recently chastened Dublin team travel to Mayo for round 2 of the National Football League at MacHale Park in Castlebar tomorrow evening. Throw in is at 6.30pm. While it will be a balmy 8 degrees at Castlebar, punters are advised to bring umbrellas as there is also an 80 per cent chance of rain.
MacHale Park is located just off Lawn Road in Castlebar and delays are likely in the vicinity of the stadium before and after the game.
Cavan play Longford at Breffni Park at 7pm and delays are likely in the vicinity of the stadium before and after the game.
Kerry take on Armagh at Austin Stack Park in Tralee, also at 7pm and intending travellers are warned of delays on the N69 Listowel/Tralee Rd, on the N70 Castlemaine/Tralee Rd by Boherbee.
The Irish Chamber Orchestra World Premiere takes place at the RDS Concert Hall at 8pm tomorrow and delays are expected in the Ballsbridge area as a result.
Cork will play Down at Páirc Uí Chaoimh and Monaghan will play Kildare at Clones on Sunday. Throw in is at 2pm and 2.30pm respectively.
Jedward will strut their stuff at the Grand Canal Theatre on Sunday with doors open at 6.30. Delays are also expected in the area of Macken St before and after the gig.
