Research from Deloitte suggests that three quarters of the Irish funds industry expect growth in the region of 20 per cent next year, with few believing there will be a impact from the credit crisis.

The 2007 Deloitte Fund Administration Survey questioned 25 companies providing fund administration services last month and found strong grounds for future optimism.

Based on the results of the questionnaire, the assets under administration are expected to grow to € 1.3 trillion ($2 trillion) by end 2008. Hedge-funds have been the main driver of growth to date.

Nine out of ten respondents said they believed there would little or no impact in the short-term and even fewer see little or no long-term impact.
