Irish IT consultancy firm Version 1 is to create up to 80 new jobs in Dublin over the next 18 months, bringing its total number of staff in Ireland to 250.

The demand for more staff has been fuelled by new business, and the creation of two new divisions - business consulting division and an infrastructure consulting division. The company has already doubled its workforce in the past year and a half.   "Over the past year and a half we have seen our workforce double from 80 people to 170.  We had moved to larger premises in 2006 to accommodate this rapid growth and are about to open an extension to this premises," said Version 1's managing director, Justin Keatinge.

The company is also aiming to increase its turnover by 50 per cent to €15 million by the end of the financial year.
