ESB says some customers in Co Cork may suffer power cuts in the next four days while a high-wide load is being moved between Irish Sugar premises in Carlow and Mallow.

As a result of the height of the loads, ESB Network crews will be required to switch off power to small numbers of homes along the route as lines are lowered and reset.

Travelling at four miles per hour the convoy is due to reach Mallow on Sunday but the exact timing, or duration, of the outages is impossible to predict. ESB Network crews are accompanying the convoy and lowering lines as required.

The route of the convoy is: Thursday 28th April from 9am, Carlow to Abbeyleix along the R417 and R430.
